Questions About Our Outdoor Fitness Events?
Everything you need to know about park runs, charity walks, open water swimming, and CrossFit boot camps for adults 40-60 across the UK
Park run is designed for all abilities—there's no minimum fitness level required. Most of our 40-60 age groups include walkers, joggers, and runners at completely different paces, and everyone finishes together as a community. You can walk the whole 5km if you prefer, or run bits and walk bits. It's about showing up and being part of something, not about speed.
Entry fees vary depending on the event—typically £20-£45 per person for day events—but a significant portion goes directly to the charity partner. We also offer discounts if you're fundraising, and some events are free to enter with a suggested donation. You'll always know exactly where your money's going before you sign up.
Yes, our open water sessions are run with strict safety protocols including trained lifeguards, buddy systems, and marked swimming areas in lakes and coastal locations across the UK. We always start with calmer conditions and shorter distances for beginners, and you're never expected to swim further than you're comfortable with. Many of our participants had never done open water swimming before—it's genuinely welcoming for newcomers.
Our boot camps are outdoor, high-intensity interval training sessions lasting 45-60 minutes, run by qualified coaches who modify exercises for different fitness levels. You'll do a mix of bodyweight exercises, partner work, and short running intervals—all designed for the 40-60 age group. Sessions are seasonal (spring through autumn) and held in parks across the UK, typically once or twice a week per location.
Most events can be adapted—just let us know when you sign up what your situation is, and we'll give you honest advice about whether it's suitable or suggest alternatives. For anything serious, we recommend checking with your GP first. Our coaches are experienced working with people in this age group who've had injuries or managed conditions, so there's usually a way to participate safely.
We run events in major cities and regions across the UK—from London and Manchester to Edinburgh and Cardiff. You can search by location on our events page, or sign up to our newsletter to get notified when new park run groups, walking marathons, and boot camps launch near you. Most areas have monthly or weekly options once you're registered.
